A dedicated researcher with over two decades of expertise in special education and music therapy. Pioneer in developing music intervention programs for children with autism, deafness, and other developmental needs in Vietnam — trained at Flinders University, Australia.
This doctoral study investigated the effectiveness of structured and improvisational music intervention approaches for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within Vietnamese inclusive school environments. Employing a mixed-methods design, the research explored how culturally situated music activities — grounded in Vietnamese musical heritage — could serve as a therapeutic scaffold for developing social communication, joint attention, and emotional regulation in children with ASD. Findings demonstrated significant improvements in social interaction and engagement outcomes when music interventions were adapted to the cultural and linguistic context of Vietnamese learners, informing national guidance for music therapy integration in inclusive classrooms.
